GCS Choral Society Concludes It’s 46th Season with Concert April 30th

The Greenville Choral Society concludes its 46th season with a program of contemporary classics by John Rutter and John Corigliano.  The Concert Choir will present John Rutter’s “Requiem” and John Corigliano’s “Fern Hill” Saturday, April 30, at The Memorial Baptist Church, 1510 SE Greenville Blvd, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Dwight Dockery will conduct the choir, soloists and the New Carolina Sinfonia.  This is believed to be the first time the Choral Society has sung Rutter’s “Requiem,” nearly all of which was written in 1985. The Choral Society last performed “Fern Hill,” written in 1961, in 2006.  Tickets to the performance will cost $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and $10 for seniors and students. In all, approximately 125 singers perform in ensembles within the society
